Overview

Charity Navigator is looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team as our Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications. The successful applicant will be a forward-thinking, digitally-savvy professional with a demonstrated history of driving campaign-level marketing and overseeing omni-channel presence of a brand.

The Senior Manager of Marketing & Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing/communication plans, project management, the creation of internal and external communications, and managing media relations.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the design, project management, and implementation of marketing campaigns and communications that support our brand across all markets, lines of business, and channels
  • Ensure that brand is consistently followed through all channels and touchpoints
  • Guide media relations through targeted public relations efforts for organizational initiatives and trending topics within the nonprofit sector
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts within local, national, and international media outlets.
  • Provide reporting and analysis of websites, social media, email marketing, and other marketing efforts.
  • Effectively manage, motivate, and coach our Marketing and Communications Assistant

 

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of progressive marketing/public relations experience, in a manager or director role
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
  • Superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic marketing plans and opportunities
  • Proven track record in media relations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Superior writing skills
  • Ability to establish and manage vendor and agency relationships
  • Ability to manage team members

 

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with social listening and reporting tools, like Meltwater and Sprout Social
  • Proficient in graphic design with knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Video production and editing experience
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience working in a Content Management System (CMS)
  • Familiar with Google Analytics, Google Ads, other Google tools, and SEO
  • Experience working in a project management system, such as Jira

Status 

This is an exempt position. Salary is paid on a bi-weekly basis in accordance with Charity Navigator’s standard payroll practices for employees
